Internet Marketing & Affiliate Programs: Can’t Have One Without The Other
Internet Marketing
Internet marketing is a way of using the Internet to sell products and services online. Internet Marketing strategies will often include pay per click (PPC) advertising, banner advertising, e-mail marketing, search engine marketing (SEM), search engine optimization (SEO), blog marketing, and article marketing.
Affiliate Programs
Affiliate Programs are the online equivalent of the commissioned sales person. Like the average sales person, the internet marketer or website who helps generate the sale will be paid a commission. Merchants will implement affiliate programs in order to increase online sales. Usually the merchant will experience a gigantic increase in transactions due to the recent popularity of affiliate programs and growing number of internet marketers.

Typically, an affiliate program is open to anyone who wishes to join. The merchant will provide links, which include a tracking unique code, to the members of the affiliate program. The members will then place their links all over the internet using any combination of the Internet Marketing techniques listed above. As you can see, neither would survive without the other.
